The fact is no suction cup can have a foolproof hold on all surfaces especially ones that are porous like a mesh with little holes or not perfectly flat.

Just put a drop on the cup and spread it around with your finger so that it coats the entire surface. Press the suction cup firmly in place making sure there are no air bubbles between the cup and the mounting surface. Any grit or dirt on the windshield will also affect whether or not the cup holds.

Depending on the use you may need to attach the suction cup to the shelf or hook you re using before mounting. Rinse the inside of the suction cup under warm water then shake off the excess water. First start by wiping off any dust and debris from the cup before mounting. I use a drop of vegetable or olive oil or even pam on suction cups that won t stick including my dash cam.
